The candidate will work a cycle of 2 days on and 2 days off, committing to both 12-hour day (8:30 am to 8:30 pm) and night (8:30 pm to 8:30 am) shifts. Key responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing the seasonal schedule by ensuring operational databases are updated with real-time data. They will prepare various reports, such as Sitreps, and manually update Baggage and Flight Information Displays. The candidate will actively troubleshoot multiple, simultaneous scheduling conflicts. They will coordinate closely with the Engineering Baggage Control Room regarding real-time operational changes in the Baggage Handling Area (BHA). Additional duties include ensuring Arrival Baggage Presentation KPIs are met, facilitating joint inspections, handling VIP flights and exceptions, investigating on-site incidents, and performing enforcement works to ensure staff adhere to safety and security measures.
Required qualifications
The candidate is required to have a minimum Diploma with any relevant education. They should be legally eligible to work in Singapore. The candidate must be physically capable of working on-site in the baggage handling area and fully able to commit to the rotating 12-hour shift cycle, including weekends. Possessing a Class 3 driving license to drive the baggage truck is highly preferred.
Experience needed
This is a junior executive level position in the logistics and supply chain sector. The candidate should have at least 1 year of working experience, though 2 years of experience in an airline or airport operations environment is strongly preferred. Prior experience with airline/airport scheduling, specifically with gate and baggage scheduling systems, as well as familiarity with aircraft types and Apron operations, will be considered a significant advantage.
Skills and competencies
The candidate should be highly organized with strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot scheduling conflicts smoothly as they arise. They must possess excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with internal stakeholders, Airside Support Officers, and the Facilities Management Committee. The candidate should be vigilant, detail-oriented, able to follow strict airport security and safety instructions carefully, and maintain a highly professional attitude at work.
