Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for leading a team of shipyard maintenance staff to develop and execute Planned Maintenance schedules. You will oversee the upkeep of heavy equipment and machinery, including prime movers and various cranes (overhead, crawler, and gantry). Key duties include serving as the custodian of all maintenance records per ISO standards and ensuring that workshops, office buildings, gravel docks, and slipways meet health and safety operational requirements. You will manage facility development projects, prepare annual budgets for tools, and coordinate with subcontractors for facility upgrades. Additionally, you will monitor hazardous waste disposal (B3) in accordance with local laws and present monthly maintenance reports to senior management.
Required Qualification
The candidate should have strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of shipyard infrastructure. You must be capable of working closely with diverse departments to support yard operations, such as dock lighting, gates, and welding equipment. The candidate should be organized enough to keep track of rental equipment and verify daily work done by the maintenance team. A high level of responsibility is required as the designated person for notifying and rectifying all facility defects reported by workers. Proficiency in budget preparation and asset management (including scrap disposal) is essential.
Experience Needed
The candidate should have at least 5 years of professional experience in Yard Manager Jobs Singapore or related fields such as Repair and Maintenance, General Management, or Risk Management within a marine environment. Proven experience in managing subcontractors and overseeing facility development projects within budget and on schedule is critical. Familiarity with ISO documentation standards and local environmental regulations regarding shipyard waste is highly preferred.

The candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to focus under pressure. Strong communication skills are needed to present technical reports to Management and coordinate with architects or other professionals. You must be proactive in staying up-to-date with safety codes and advancements in construction and repair technology. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while acting as a key member of the shipyard environment upgrade team is a core competency for this role.
