Aircraft Cabin Technician (Aviation, Shift Work, Changi)

A full time job opportunity is available at SINGAPORE AERO SUPPORT SERVICES PTE. LTD. in Singapore. The candidate will perform the duties of an aircraft cabin technician. The candidate will have to work rotating shifts, which include weekends and public holidays. There is a vacancy for this on-site non-executive job position located at Airline Road in Changi. The selected candidate will get a salary of $3,500 to $5,000 on a monthly basis. There is a requirement for an educational background in aviation or equivalent technical experience. Key responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for inspecting and repairing passenger seats, galleys, and lavatories to maintain optimal aircraft conditions. They will install cabin interior components into commercial aircraft, including seat tracks, overhead bins, side panels, and bulkheads. The candidate will perform thorough functional and aesthetic inspections of aircraft cabin interiors. They will document any defects, perform necessary troubleshooting, and carry out immediate rectification. They will support cabin modifications, retrofitting, and component repair tasks to ensure the high quality of the aircraft interiors on the operated fleet is maintained. They will also complete any other assigned engineering duties with responsibility.

Required qualifications

The candidate is required to have an educational background in aviation. Alternatively, they must be a qualified Aircraft Technician in trades such as Mechanical (B1), Avionics (B2), Sheetmetal, or Cabin. They should be legally eligible to work in Singapore. The candidate must be physically capable of performing tasks in high-noise areas, working at great heights, and operating comfortably in a warm and humid environment. They must be fully committed to working rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Experience needed

This is a non-executive level position in the engineering sector. The candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of working experience in performing maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft. Any type of prior experience in specific cabin retrofitting or interior component installation will be considered a strong asset. On the job familiarization regarding the specific operated fleet and facility maintenance will be provided to the selected candidates.

Skills and competencies

The candidate should have comprehensive knowledge of aircraft operations, activities, and facility maintenance. They should have excellent problem-solving skills to effectively troubleshoot and resolve defects. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in standard English to document technical issues. They should be highly detail-oriented to perform meticulous aesthetic and functional inspections. They should be able to follow strict aviation safety protocols carefully and maintain a professional attitude at work.
