SBM ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION PTE. LTD. is hiring an experienced Carpenter to join their team in Pioneer/Jurong. This Full Time, Non-executive position offers Flexi-Hours, making it suitable for skilled tradespeople looking for a more adaptable schedule.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves a comprehensive range of structural and finishing tasks across construction sites:
Structural Installation: Install foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using various materials including wood, steel, concrete, and composites.
Precision Fitting: Fit and install window and door frames, hardware, and trim. You will be expected to use professional tools like laser levels, plumb bobs, and carpenter’s levels to ensure accuracy.
Blueprint Reading: Study building plans, sketches, and blueprints to prepare project layouts and determine the exact dimensions and materials required.
Fabrication & Repair: Cut and shape materials to specific measurements using power saws and hand tools. You will also build or repair cabinets, frameworks, and other wooden fixtures.
Site Setup & Safety: Erect scaffolding and ladders for high-level work, move materials around the job site, and ensure a clean, debris-free workspace following all safety regulations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Requires 4 years of experience in either commercial or residential carpentry.
Technical Proficiency: Must have a strong ability to comprehend schematic diagrams, building plans, and specifications.
Safety Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of job site safety; candidates must be able to complete a company-specific safety orientation.
Attributes: Attention to detail, ability to follow complex instructions, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Education: A high school diploma is considered an asset.
Salary & Benefits
Monthly Salary: $3,300 to $4,500.
Flexibility: This role features Flexi-Hours.
