This Privacy Policy explains how the Jobs in Singapore mobile app ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
What the App does
New Jobs in Singapore lets you browse and search job vacancies (sourced from Singapore’s official MyCareersFuture job portal), save jobs, compare jobs, set up job alerts, view salary insights and career tips, and apply for jobs by opening the employer’s or the official portal’s application page.
Information we do not collect
The App does not require you to create an account, and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, resume or any other personal identification to browse jobs, save jobs or set up job alerts. When you tap "Apply", you are taken to the official MyCareersFuture site or the employer’s own page in an in-app browser; any information you submit there is governed by that site’s own privacy policy, not this one.
Information stored only on your device
Saved jobs, applied-job records, job alerts (your search keywords, category and location preferences) and your app settings are stored locally on your device. This information is not sent to our servers and is removed if you uninstall the App or clear its data.
Job alert notifications
If you set up a job alert, the App periodically checks for matching new listings in the background and shows you a notification on your device. This works entirely on your device using your saved search criteria; we do not maintain a server-side record of your alerts.
Automatically collected information
Like most apps, the App uses a small number of third-party services that automatically collect limited technical information to keep the App working, measure basic usage and show ads:
- Google Firebase Analytics – collects app usage statistics (such as screens viewed and general device/OS information) to help us understand how the App is used and to fix problems.
- Google Firebase Remote Config – lets us adjust certain app settings (such as which ad placements are active) without releasing a new app update.
- Google AdMob – shows banner, native, interstitial, rewarded and app-open ads within the App. AdMob may collect your advertising ID and other device information to show ads, including personalised ads where permitted, and to measure ad performance.
These services may collect information such as device identifiers, general device information, approximate location derived from IP address, and app interaction data, in line with their own privacy policies:
Job data source
The job listings shown in the App are retrieved from Singapore’s official MyCareersFuture job portal through a proxy service, so we can display up-to-date listings inside the App. No personal information about you is sent as part of this process beyond your search terms (such as keyword, category or location) needed to fetch matching results.
Permissions the App uses
- Internet access – to fetch job listings and display ads.
- Notifications – to show you job alert notifications on Android 13 and above. You can turn this off any time in your device’s App Settings.
The App does not request access to your camera, contacts, location, microphone, storage, or call/SMS data.
Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data security
We rely on Google’s infrastructure (Firebase and AdMob) for the limited technical data described above, and locally stored data (saved jobs, alerts, settings) stays on your device under Android’s normal app-sandboxing protections.
Your choices
- You can clear saved jobs, applied jobs and alerts at any time from within the App, or by clearing the App’s data/storage from your device settings.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising through your device’s Ads settings (Settings › Privacy › Ads on most Android devices) or at Google Ads Settings.
- You can turn off notifications for the App from your device’s notification settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we add a new feature. The "Last updated" date above shows when it was last changed. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
