Job Overview

St. Andrew's Mission Hospital is seeking an experienced, empathetic, and dedicated Staff Nurse to lead ward-based resident care at St. Andrew's Nursing Home (Buangkok). Serving as the nurse-in-charge of the ward, this professional full-time role offers clinical autonomy in formulating resident care plans, leading multidisciplinary interventions, and upholding Enhanced Nursing Home Standards (ENHS) in an established psychiatric and long-term care setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the ward nursing team in assessing, evaluating, and monitoring residents' clinical needs and chronic health conditions.
• Formulate, review, and execute individualized nursing care plans in strict alignment with Enhanced Nursing Home Standards (ENHS).
• Collaborate actively within multidisciplinary care teams (MDT) and participate in clinical psychiatric case conferences with specialist doctors.
• Accompany medical doctors on clinical ward rounds, reporting vital status updates and ensuring precise implementation of treatment plans and medication orders.
• Drive clinical quality improvement initiatives across fall prevention, wound management, pressure ulcer reduction, and infection control.
• Uphold robust infection prevention and control practices in line with prevailing Ministry of Health (MOH) guidelines.
• Manage ward-level inventory control, medication tracking, and medical supply replenishment.
• Engage and counsel residents' next-of-kin during admissions, discharges, and policy or condition updates.
• Supervise, guide, and mentor junior nurses and healthcare assistants on the ward.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
• Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical nursing experience (experience in long-term residential, geriatric, or psychiatric care is an asset).
• Compassionate, resilient, and caring disposition with a positive work attitude.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, doctors, and family members.
• Able to work rotating clinical shift rosters as required in a residential nursing home.
