Job Overview

Middleton International School Pte. Ltd. (part of the EtonHouse International Education Group) is seeking a dynamic, inquiry-driven, and inspiring Secondary Science Teacher for a 1-year contract position commencing January 2027 to December 2027 at its Tampines campus (2 Tampines Street 92). In this professional role reporting directly to the Principal, you will deliver Cambridge IGCSE Science for Middle Years students and UK Cambridge A-Level Science to High School students, fostering scientific rigor, critical inquiry, and social-emotional growth in an internationally minded learning community.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons across Cambridge IGCSE and UK Cambridge A-Level curricula (Chemistry, Physics, or Coordinated Science).
• Facilitate inquiry-based learning, scientific experimentation, observational analysis, and critical thinking skills in fully equipped science laboratories.
• Prepare students thoroughly for internal assessments, mock examinations, coursework, and Cambridge International Examinations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of individual student learning progress, formulating constructive written reports and onward education academic references.
• Conduct productive parent-teacher conferences, providing detailed developmental evaluations and evidence of student academic achievements.
• Deliver holistic pastoral care, actively supporting students' social-emotional well-being in alignment with the school's Contentment Foundation wellbeing framework.
• Collaborate with department colleagues on schemes of work, syllabus enhancements, and interdisciplinary curriculum planning.
• Uphold the school's Safeguarding and Child Protection policies rigorously, ensuring student physical and emotional safety across all classroom and off-site activities.
• Participate actively in departmental meetings, professional appraisal cycles, school events, and required campus supervision duties.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or higher degree in Science / Science Education from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 2 years of secondary teaching experience in Chemistry, Physics, or Coordinated Science.
• Proven familiarity with the Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International A-Level curricula; familiarity with the IB Middle Years / IMYC framework is desirable.
• Deep understanding of contemporary pedagogical approaches and laboratory safety protocols.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to engage with culturally diverse students, staff, and parents.
