Job Overview

Bright Hill Evergreen Home, a reputable voluntary welfare nursing home dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare and sheltered care for the elderly, is hiring a compassionate, dedicated Health Attendant. Stationed at Punggol Field, this entry-level, full-time role focuses on supporting daily living activities (ADLs), personal hygiene care, meal assistance, and physical transfers to ensure the dignity, comfort, and well-being of elderly residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct frequent ward rounds to attend to residents' immediate physical and comfort needs, promptly alerting staff nurses of any health changes.
• Assist residents with essential personal hygiene and grooming routines, including showering, oral toilet care, nail trimming, changing clothes, and diaper changes.
• Strip, sanitize, and make resident beds, ensuring clean linens and neat bedside areas.
• Serve scheduled meals and assist with oral feeding for residents without swallowing difficulties.
• Assist nursing and therapy staff with the safe transfer, lifting, and repositioning of bed-bound and non-ambulant residents.
• Support nurses in ensuring residents take their prescribed medications on time.
• Accompany residents on medical escorts to specialist outpatient clinics (SOC) for medical follow-ups, as well as organized community outings.
• Encourage and assist residents during recreational, social, occupational, and physiotherapy activities.
• Assist healthcare staff with last offices respectfully when required.
• Maintain a hygienic, fall-safe environment by cleaning up accidental spills or discharges immediately.
• Document daily care records accurately while safeguarding resident data privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum Primary or Secondary school education.
• No prior healthcare experience required (fresh and entry-level candidates, as well as career switchers, are welcome).
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful disposition towards elderly residents.
• Physically fit and capable of assisting with resident transfers, showering, and active ward duties.
• Good team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn standard nursing home operating procedures.
