Job Overview

CHEESEDOTCOM LLP, a gourmet retail boutique specializing in artisanal cheeses, fine wines, and specialty foods, is hiring an enthusiastic, customer-oriented Retail Assistant to join its store at 25 Upper East Coast Road. Operating on a 5-day work week with 2 weekends off per month, this junior executive role is ideal for individuals passionate about gourmet food and wine culture, offering hands-on training in artisanal cheese handling, tasting events, and boutique retail operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily specialty boutique retail operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Assist walk-in customers with personalized recommendations, tasting notes, and food pairings for artisanal cheeses, fine wines, and gourmet deli items.
• Prepare, slice, portion, wrap, and label cheese and charcuterie items accurately following strict food hygiene standards.
• Operate POS cash registers, process payment transactions, and balance daily sales receipts.
• Coordinate online orders, preparing and packing customer purchases for website orders and delivery platforms (e.g., Grab).
• Receive incoming shipments, verify delivery orders against invoices, and ensure goods are transferred to temperature-controlled storage promptly.
• Monitor stock levels, track product expiry dates, and conduct periodic inventory cycle counts.
• Maintain impeccable cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout display chillers, shelving, and storage spaces.
• Support in-store promotional campaigns, seasonal masterclasses, and cheese-and-wine tasting sessions.

Working Schedule & Entitlements

• 5 working days per week based on a roster (entitled to 2 weekends off per month).
• Operating Hours: Weekdays (11:00 AM – 8:00 PM), Saturdays (10:00 AM – 8:00 PM), Sundays (10:00 AM – 7:00 PM).
• Location: 25 Upper East Coast Road, Singapore 455290.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Open to Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs).
• Minimum 1 year of relevant retail, customer service, or F&B experience (training provided for candidates with no direct gourmet experience).
• Must have completed a recognized WSQ Food Safety / Food Hygiene Course.
• Keen interest in artisanal cheese, wine pairing, and gourmet delicacies is an advantage.
• Friendly, proactive, and customer-focused with strong verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable handling POS operations, knife cutting for cheese portions, and physical stock handling.
• Willing to work retail shifts including weekends and public holidays according to the roster.
