Autism Association (Singapore) [AA(S)], a dedicated Social Service Agency empowering individuals on the autism spectrum to reach their full potential and lead fulfilling lives, is hiring compassionate and dependable Part-Time Teacher Aides for Eden School in Bukit Batok. In this meaningful half-day role on a 1-year renewable contract, you will work collaboratively alongside special education teachers, providing essential classroom support, implementing visual strategies, and facilitating learning and recess activities for students with autism.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the classroom teacher in guiding and engaging students with autism during daily curriculum lessons.
• Facilitate learning using structured Visual Supports, visual schedules, and ASD prompting techniques under teacher direction.
• Prepare, organize, and assemble learning resources, teaching aids, and activity materials.
• Assist in arranging classroom furniture, workstations, and physical sensory environments to optimize learning.
• Supervise and assist students during off-site learning journeys, community integration excursions, and school celebrations.
• Set up play stations, organize toys, and facilitate structured social interaction during Play @ Recess sessions.
• Participate actively in internal and external professional development and special education training sessions assigned by the school.
• Uphold student safety, positive behavioral support, and respectful communication at all times.

Working Hours & Locations

• Contract: 1-Year Renewable Contract.
• Work Schedule: 5 days per week, working either morning or afternoon half-day shifts:
  • Morning Shift: 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM (5 hours/day)
  • Afternoon Shift: 12:30 PM – 5:30 PM (5 hours/day)

Requirements & Qualifications

• No prior working experience required; comprehensive training on autism-focused strategies and classroom practices will be provided.
• Prior experience or personal interest in working with children or youth with special needs (particularly autism spectrum disorder) is an advantage.
• Patient, empathetic, observant, and caring disposition with strong teamwork skills.
• Able to follow instructions reliably and maintain a calm, supportive presence in a dynamic learning environment.
• Able to commit to the designated 5-day half-day schedule.
